For Ramtaps, sustainability is not a marketing statement but a principle that guides how we design, manufacture, and support our products. Our philosophy is simple: the most sustainable product is the one that lasts. Durability reduces waste, conserves resources, and gives customers confidence that their investment will serve them for decades.
To make this possible, every component we produce is built with long-term use in mind. Even parts that inevitably wear over time can be replaced through our spare-parts program, allowing users to repair rather than discard. This approach has shaped how we think about materials, production, and supply partnerships.
In 2025, Ramtaps completed its transition to lead-free materials across all product ranges — a key step towards ensuring safer water and cleaner manufacturing. This change reflects both our compliance with upcoming Australian standards and our own commitment to responsible material use.
Energy efficiency and carbon reduction are equally important in our operations. At our Ningbo facility, more than one thousand rooftop solar panels now supply a significant portion of daily energy needs. A similar solar initiative is being implemented at our Brisbane site to further reduce our reliance on conventional power sources.
We also focus on how our products reach customers. Most packaging now uses recyclable cardboard and cotton bags instead of soft plastics, while recycled materials are used as fillers in outer cartons. All metal offcuts and swarf generated during production are collected and 100% recycled through our long-term recycling partners, supporting a circular manufacturing economy.
Across our supply chain, we prioritise efficiency and proximity. Whether in Australia or China, we work with nearby suppliers wherever possible to reduce transport emissions. We continue to align with Australia’s broader sustainability goals, including renewable-energy transition, waste reduction, and low-emission manufacturing.
Looking ahead, we aim to make steady, measurable progress — expanding solar capacity, improving recycling systems, and further reducing packaging waste. For Ramtaps, sustainability is not a separate initiative but a continuation of what we have always believed in: making things properly, so they last.
